Step into tomorrow’s technology
Imagine leading the charge in nanoimprint lithography—driving advancements that power AR/VR smart glasses, AI data centers, biosensors, and microLEDs. SCIL Nanoimprint Solutions, a spin-out from Philips, has innovation running through its veins. Our mission? Empower high-volume manufacturing clients across diverse industries with technology that transforms possibilities.
SCIL enables this transformation by fabricating nanometer-accurate micro- and nano-patterns that are essential for next-generation devices—ranging from lasers and flat optics to image sensors and AR glasses. These patterns drive innovation in data communication, optical computing, sensing, and advanced imaging.
Based at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven—the heart of Europe’s tech scene—we’re ready to expand globally and redefine what’s possible. Join us, and let’s shape the future together.
Your mission
As a Nanoimprint Process and Stamp Technician at SCIL, you’ll become a key expert in our unique, proprietary nanoimprint lithography process. You’ll be trained on our in-house technology and work across two main areas:
1. Stamp Making Process
- Manufacture imprint stamps for both internal and external use.
- Perform incoming inspections on supplied masters (90% are externally), ensuring they are defect-free before use.
- Continuously assess your own work and propose improvements to procedures where needed.
- Maintain close contact with internal stakeholders— throughout the day, priorities may shift—making regular check-ins and strong collaboration essential.
- Occasionally travel (~5%) to customer locations to support and train them on SCIL’s stamp making procedures.
- Work in a cleanroom and ensure your workspace meets strict cleanliness standards.
- Participate in new tool development for automated stamp production
2. Customer Samples & Pilot Runs
- Serve as the first point of contact for sample processing—whether internal R&D tests or external customer runs.
- Follow process protocols rigorously while remaining alert to variations and potential optimizations.
- Perform quality control using inspection tools such as optical - and electron microscopy.
- Think in solutions: actively troubleshoot process deviations or hardware challenges to ensure a smooth flow.
- Accurately log all activities and observations.
Your expertise and qualities
To be successful in this role, you bring relevant experience and the curiosity to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Education: MBO-4 diploma (formerly MTS), preferably in chemistry, chemical engineering, or applied laboratory sciences (e.g. chemisch-fysisch analist).
- Experience: 1–2 years in a high-tech, cleanroom or lab environment.
- Technical skillset: Familiarity with working in cleanroom settings and operating high-tech equipment.
- Mindset: You’re flexible, accurate, eager to learn, and have the patience and discipline to master detailed processes.
