As a Cloud System Engineer at Darling Ingredients International a challenging position awaits you. Darling Ingredients repurposes and recycles materials from the animal agriculture and food industries – transforming them into essential ingredients that do everything from feeding animals to fertilizing crops to fueling planes and nourishing people.

In this role, you will shape the future of Azure and OCI, IaaS, and PaaS for Darling Ingredients on a global scale. You’ll tackle thought-provoking challenges and leverage next-generation technologies to build our IaaS-based backend and transition to a PaaS infrastructure. Your focus will be on promoting cloud potential and delivering value through automation, transforming processes from batch to real-time, cluttered to standardized, and complex to simple. You’ll collaborate with other teams to reinvent and automate IT, showcasing your true potential in a culture that values ownership and delivery, with a strong emphasis on automation.

You will be part of the global Data Center team, which spans four continents and manages the global (cloud) data center infrastructure. You will cooperate with your IT colleagues in Son where you are located, but you will also participate in global infrastructure projects and work together with your colleagues worldwide.

Key responsibilities and challenges:

• Design and implement secure IaaS or PaaS solutions and reference architectures, based on organization, business and application requirements.

• Design highly available, scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure using proven frameworks and tools.

• Present design proposals and final state documentation.

• Manage cloud infrastructure projects from design phase up to operational support and acceptance.

• Manage and support Azure, OCI and VMware platforms.

• Install and maintain Server OS (Linux, Windows) and configurations using automated installation and Configuration Management tools.

• Provide infrastructure for Microsoft SQL and Oracle Databases.

• Automate IaaS and PaaS through cloud native tools, Powershell, Bash and Ansible.

• Implement CIS security controls on Server & Cloud platforms as specified by our Policies and Standards

• Provide Infrastructure lifecycle management.

• Monitor and optimize the performance and cost of Data Center infrastructures.

• Participate in project related, national and international site visits.

• Participate in global infrastructure support during and after office hours.

• Perform all work using our incident and change management processes.

Our ideal candidate:

• Is pragmatic, self-starting, a strong communicator and a real team player.

• Has a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent trough experience and certifications.

• Has excellent verbal and written command of the English language, Dutch is pre.

• Has an analytical mindset and is able to match technological solutions to business requirements with attention to detail.

• Has at least 3 years of experience in leading and managing projects to deploy complex systems.

• Has at least 5 years of relevant work experience in cloud-based technologies (Iaas, Paas) on an enterprise-level.

• Has proven experience in Microsoft Azure, AWS, OCI, Colocation Data Centers or equivalent cloud-based IaaS, or PaaS.

• Experience with Linux, Windows, VMware.

• Experience with Oracle Applications: EBS, JDE.
