BSc Meeloopstage: Developing Smart Automation Tools for Manufacturing
Join SCIL to automate breakthrough nanotech. Build smart Python tools for next-gen production—impacting AR, AI, and biosensors. Shape the future from High Tech Campus Eindhoven.
Step into tomorrow’s technology
Imagine leading the charge in nanoimprint lithography—driving advancements that touch everything from AR/VR smart glasses and AI data centers to cutting-edge biosensors and MicroLEDs. SCIL Nanoimprint Solutions, a fresh spin-out from Philips, has innovation coursing through its veins. Our mission? Empower high-volume manufacturing clients across diverse industries with technology that transforms possibilities. Based on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven—the heart of Europe’s tech scene—we’re ready to expand globally and redefine what is possible. Join us, and let’s shape the future together.
As we continue to scale and refine our operations, we’re offering a hands-on internship opportunity for a motivated technical student who wants to help automate and improve our semi-automatic production process. Together with a Sr. Software Developer you’ll work on these topics. In the end, your internship will have a direct impact at SCIL!
Your internship
Support the automation and optimization of a critical production process by developing a Python-based software solution, complete with a human-machine interface (HMI), recipe management, and process logging. Your work will help enhance quality, reliability, and traceability of production at SCIL.
Explanation Recipe management: A recipe holds the parameters a process is going to use to run. It holds the settings of different stages such as temperature, waiting time, mixing time, etc.
The management of the recipe means to make an interface to; create/ edit / delete / copy or export and import a recipe.
To summarize you will work on the following steps during your internship:
1. Create Python program with;
- a user Interface (HMI)
- recipe management
- an automated sequence
- Logging of process data
2. Using GIT for version control
3. Create a user Manual
4. Create a software description;
- What is done
- What is tested (Status report of all tested components)
- What can be improved
- What drivers are used
- What is the functionality of all components
5. End presentation
