Your mission
As our new Business Controller, you will bring a sharp financial and analytical perspective to a fast-growing high-tech environment. You bridge the gap between finance, operations, and technology, turning data into insight and insight into better decisions.
You’re not an accountant; you’re a business partner who understands cost drivers, supplier dynamics, and the story behind the numbers. Your goal: ensure financial clarity, operational efficiency, and embedding first class processes that will strengthen SCIL’s growth trajectory.

Key responsibilities;

  • Day to day management of the entire finance function including management of the external finance team;

  • Hands on with business partnering throughout the company especially with R&D, Operations, Sales to align financial priorities with business goals;

  • Process development and implementation including driving change with ERP and finance processes to support scalability and growth;

  • Supporting and implementing project accounting and reporting;

  • Stakeholder management including RVO innovation credit and shareholder reporting;

  • Supporting with financial planning, analysis and reporting activities in close collaboration with the leadership team;

  • Provide transparency on product, project and supplier costs through solid cost accounting;

  • Monitor cash flow, working capital and budget adherence;

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, Sales to align financial priorities with business goals;

  • Ensure implementation and compliance with internal controls and audit requirements;

  • Management of legal documentation signing and filing;

  • Driving the use of AI within the financial reporting and management systems.

Your expertise and qualities

To be successful in this role, you combine analytical precision with business curiosity and a hands-on attitude. You have the following profile:

  • Educational background: Chartered qualification (AICPA, CIMA, RC or equivalent)

  • Professional experience: 5–8 years of relevant experience in finance or accountancy and audit in the Netherlands, nice to have within a high-tech or manufacturing environment.

  • Stakeholder Management: Experience of dealing with RVO Innovation Credit and WBSO management and reporting;

  • Operational finance: Solid understanding of cost accounting, supplier cost structures, and business economics;

  • Analytical mindset: Skilled in financial reporting, budgeting and data interpretation;

  • Tech & operations orientation: Eager to work closely with engineers and operations to understand the numbers behind the process;

  • Communication: Able to clearly explain financial insights to non-financial stakeholders;

  • Mindset: Proactive, business-involved and curious, someone who seeks information rather than waits for it;

  • Forward Looking: Keen to learn and embed AI in the culture of the financial organisation.
